MISSION STATEMENT

The Mental Health Association, Inc. is dedicated to enabling and empowering individuals challenged with mental impairments to develop to their fullest potential and become valued community members. With a broad base of professional knowledge and many decades of experience, MHA is committed to providing effective, innovative and flexible residential and support services.

VISION STATEMENT

The Mental Health Association, Inc. envisions a community where all individuals have the skills and opportunities to achieve their aspirations. As an agency of excellence for our clients, staff and community, we strive to create an atmosphere where dignity, respect and equality are commonplace, and all individuals can reach their maximum potential. Recognized as a premier provider of residential and support services, we remain committed to offering the highest quality housing options and service delivery through innovation, collaboration, flexibility, continuous learning and self-examination, and dedication to those we serve.

OVERARCHING GOAL

Continue to further our mission and vision of providing the highest quality of residential and support services for individuals challenged with mental impairments by maintaining our organizational excellence and independence.

I. Assure the highest quality of residential and support services throughout the organization.

II. Seek opportunities to develop innovative programs to address unmet community needs.

III. Reach out to our community to integrate and support individuals with mental impairments.

IV. Foster collaborative relationships with public, nonprofit and private leaders and agencies that share our values.

V. Maintain excellent organizational performance through continuous leadership, staff and infrastructure development.

TACTICS to SUPPORT STRATEGIES

  1. Increase the resources for residences and services for the organization’s participants by identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand our programs and collaborations.
  2. Promote awareness of the organization through continuing participation in community planning and development initiatives.
  3. Diversify the organization’s funding base to expand the range of our stakeholders and assure our financial stability.
  4. Maintain the organization’s management excellence by continuing our strong fiscal reporting systems, enhancing our information technology, and developing succession plans for key positions.
  5. Ensure the quality of the organization’s direct care staff and their supervisors through revitalized orientation and training programs, enhanced performance improvement and recognition initiatives, and ongoing efforts to increase compensation, benefits and other incentives.
  6. Strengthen the organization’s board to have more diversity, better understanding of the board’s governance role, and greater ability to provide financial and other resources to the organization.
