This program offers up to 24 months of stable housing, as well as case management support to help adult men transition to permanent housing. Housing is located in Springfield in an 8-bedroom, ADA-compliant, 2-story, modernized, wood-framed home. Each resident has their own private bedroom and shares community and kitchen spaces with other residents.
Each bedroom is subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which means tenants are required to pay just 30% of their income toward rent. For each individual in the program, a service plan is developed to assist with stabilization and transition such as daily life skills for independence when residents are ready to transition to permanent housing.
Referrals for the transitional housing program come from a number of different sources. These include other BSAS funded programs, as well as community providers of residential treatment services or homeless supports. Self-referrals are welcome.
