Employee Benefits

  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance

    Health Insurance:


    Two EPO plans:

    - 5000 deductible plan (HRA covers first half of deductible)

    - 3000 Saver


    MHA pays an average of 75% of health insurance premiums for all health insurance plans.


    Dental and Vision Insurance: 

    Dental and Vision plan through Guardian. The vision plan is a part of the VSP vision network. MHA pays an average of 50% of premiums for dental for employees.

  • Flexible Spending Account

    Employees can elect an amount up to $2,750 per benefit year of pretax money to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses including copays and approved medical supplies. Up to $500 rolls over to the following benefit year.

  • Health Savings Account

    Employees who elect the 3000 deductible health plan have the option of contributing to a Health Savings Account. Money in the Health Savings Account can be used for out-of-pocket health expenses. All of the funds roll over and are available to the employee even after they leave MHA.

  • Dependent Care Account

    Employees can elect an amount of up to $5,000 per benefit year of pretax money to be used for childcare expenses or to care for a dependent in their home.

  • Short-Term Disability

    Available to employees who work 30 hours a week or more. Short-term disability and other benefits are available through Colonial Life.

  • Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability

    All employees who work 35 hours or more per week are enrolled. Life insurance is equal to one year’s salary. There are reductions for employees over the age of 65 of 50% and age 70 of 15%. Life insurance and long-term disability are provided through The Hartford.

  • 403B Retirement plan

    Retirement plan available to all employees. An employer match of 3% goes into effect after a designated amount of hours worked. The match is paid weekly.

  • EAP

    Voluntary program that offers free assessments, counseling, and referrals to any employee who may be struggling with personal or work-related problems. The EAP can also be utilized through the MHA Cares program at the BestLife Clinic.

  • First-Time Homebuyers Grant

    A grant available for first-time homebuyers that is worth up to $500. Employees are eligible for the grant after working at MHA for a year.

  • Computer Reimbursement

    10% up to $150 of the total purchase price of a computer. Employees are eligible to receive the reimbursement once every three years and only if they have worked an average of 16 hours per week in the past 6 months.

  • Paid Time Off

    Employees who work at least 30 hours per week will accrue paid time off on the first pay day of every month after the 90-day waiting period. Paid time off accrual varies based on the number of hours worked.

  • Sick Time

    Available to all employees at a rate of .0334 hours for each hour worked. Employees earn the benefit weekly based on the number of hours worked that week.

  • PILOT Program

    Available to employees who work at least 30 hours per week. Employees can “cash in” some of their accumulated time as long as the employee retains a balance of at least 40 hours.

  • Springfield College Educational Assistance

    Receive up to a $5,000 MHA Partner Grant for any bachelor’s or master’s degree at any Springfield College regional or online campus. Receive up to a $10,000 MHA Partner Grant for any bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, or Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) degree at the main campus.

  • Discounted Auto & Homeowners Insurance

    Discounts on auto insurance and homeowners insurance are available through Liberty Mutual.

  • Car Repair Loan

    Employees are eligible to apply for a payroll loan if they need help paying for the cost of car repairs. The loan can be up to $1,000. Employees are eligible for the car repair loan program if they work an average of 20 hours/week and have been employeed at MHA for at least 6 months.
